do the event, it lasts till 4am then stay over somewhere travel back with a late lunch stop the next day.

Nah only 266 miles and 5h 20mins... thats without fuel/fag/snack stop...
York is a lot closer... and there is a dissacrated (or however its spelt) church that is supposed to be haunted by evil spirits...
