Yeah, just a slightly sore wrist, must've kicked back through my steering wheel when he's rammed my wheel (it's obviously knocked the tracking out of line).

Double claim? double payout?

Joking aside is the second damage too bad?

You might want to consider getting that removed. I'm surprised the cars lasted this long...

Not at all, car's perfectly driveable. It's all panel damage, still drives perfectly, and you can't see the damage when you're sat on the comfy leather seats with the climate control and radio on, lol. Commute by bike in winter? fook that, lol, it's enough of a hassle doing it in summer. If they accept the top side of his valuation and let me keep it for 10% of that I'll have no complaints. Looks a bag of shit now, which is a shame, considering how immaculate it was previously, but if I get paid out £1500 and keep the car for £150 then it's been two and a half years of virtually free motoring )apart from fuel and consumables, obviously), same as when i got arse ended in my first Primera. That got written off the same way and I just pocketed the payout (£2400) and kept on driving it until it was ready for the knackers yard with 200 thousand miles on, and sold it for £30. I paid a grand for it (when it was worth 3 grand) and got paid £800 for it when it was written off, so basicallly had a free car for 7 years.

Ya never know - the pay out may be better than you might expectAde. I know it won't compensate for all the hassle but knowing you you'll make the most out of what you do get and it could be your next big project

Hello stranger, long time no speak, hope you're good. Think I might've seen your sister yesterday.

I may be old, but I'm not ready for a people carrier yet, lol. Or ever, shoot me first. Was thinking of going to look at a car today, but couldn't cos my laptop died, so I couldn't get the details, so I went back to bed instead.

Where abouts did you see her?? I don't blame you with the people carrier, when it was brought round here even The Child said, and I quote "What the hell is that?? I'm not getting in that thing, I'm not a ******" (cant repeat on here lol)
Least the girl has taste haha..

Hope you get sorted out soon, what sort of car you after? I would find it hard if I didn't have access to the car!

Shipley Chavsda, assuming it was her ( I was buying Cider, Mini Eggs and Practical sportsbikes magazine).

I'm not carless (couldn't get to work if I was), I'm still driving mine, it's all bodywork damage (includimg a shortened boot floor though). It was another Primera I was looking at, 2 litre Sport Plus, same a smine, but only 60k miles. Looks good in the pics, looks like there's some wear on the driver's seat, but most have that, I'd just swap my immaculate interior over into the new one. Not sure about the colour though.

Colour matters. Wouldn't buy a decent car if it was in a shit colour, like brown, gold, yellow, dark green etc. Don't want to drive a turd.

Pearl don't let the arguments between some of the folk on the forum upset the relationships YOU have with rest of the peeps here. You're contributions are very much valued and we always enjoy catching up with you and Roadtramp on the rides and meets

Ade - I fully agree about the colour - that's one of the most important things for us wimmin when we're buying our cars or bikes. Though if someone gave me a turd coloured porsche I'd not say no:lol!:

................... I'd take it, and then sell it and buy another Toyota in MY colour hee hee

Pearl, feel free to adopt my motto whenever you wish. Simply put, it's "F*ck 'em!"

Ade, yellow can look good on a 595.
I had a big brown car once though. You could see people gipping as you drove by.

I'd just like to make it clear, since this has bizarelly appeared on my thread, that whatever the issue you're referring to (I have no idea what you're on about) is nothing to do with me, in case anybody thinks that it being strangeley aired here should suggest that it was.

Ade even if the colour is not right but the condition and price are...

(don't hate me for this) have you thought about car wrapping? in your chosen colour?

Only pain is that if it get scratched got to replace that section...

Re: Unbelievable

Post by Kowalski on Thu Mar 01, 2012 8:22 am

Have you seen what wraps cost though, lol? I was watching some guys finishing off a wrap on a Range Rover in satin grey some time back, while talking to a guy about having my windows tinted. Bloody amazing really, it looked just like it had been painted, god knows how they get it flat round all the curves etc. If I remember right it had taken about 5 days total and cost about £2000.

I'll keep my eyes open in case the right car appears at the right price, otherwise I'll just keep running the bent one til it drops (it's only done 113k miles, so it's got another 85k left in it, no problem). HArdly sexy, but tbh driving a mechanically sound but cosmetically fooked car is in some ways liberating - you don't have to worry about where you park and who gives a shit if it gets bumped or scratched. I don't really want to drive a shed, and I used to love the car when it was still immaculate and polished to a fine shine every week, but right now I don't really give a shit, there's more important things in life than having a shiny car, and when you don't have those things even a new Aston Martin on the drive isn't going to make life any better. Got the engineers's report in the post yesterday, cat C write off, and he's valued it at £1350 with a £135 buy back cost, so can't really argue with that.
